A Greening Time
I think it is time for a prose poem post. I wrote the following when my sisters and I gathered for a reunion in Pennsylvania. I love remembering that time together. A Greening Time Everything around our sister’s home Is green The grass The garden The towering trees It is the greening time of year And the green lifts us up And fille us with life We breathe in Abundant beauty And here in its midst Three sisters bask in love That has deepened with time Our brother is gone But lives in our hearts. We survive, we thrive In the strength passed on From generations before Who gave us wings And planted our feet firmly On the good earth. Now next generations Surround us Give us courage And fill us with hope. We are showered by grace And in gratitude We offer unending thanks For this greening time When peace prevails That overflows and is enough To last through all seasons. PBK
